World Book Day Masked Reader

1st Mar 2021

On Thursday 4th March we will be celebrating ’World Book Day’. This year we have had to approach things a little differently, however teachers will provide lots of fun and enjoyable activities to be completed through Google Classroom.

As part of a whole school focus for World Book Day, we are introducing ‘The Masked Reader’. The children have been asked to video themselves talking about or reading an extract from their favourite book with their face disguised from the shoulders up. This can be done through apple video clips, chatterbox or just wearing a hat, wig, sunglasses or a mask, whatever is available at home. The aim of this challenge is then for children within the class to guess who the reader is behind the mask. The videos are to be completed by the end of today but the actual Masked Reader challenge will take place on Thursday. Further information about ‘The Masked Reader’ is available on Google Classroom under ‘World Book Day 2021’

World Book Day celebrates the joy and value of books and reading for children. Children are never too young to start their journey with books and the benefits of reading are enormous, so we hope you will use World Book Day to celebrate this with your child.

Thank you for your continued support.
