Our theme for World Book Day this year was 'Book Food'. We decided to explore the book 'Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza' as a follow on from the story 'Little Red Hen'. We began the day by reading the story and discussing the steps Little Red Hen took to make the perfect pizza. We then designed our own pizzas on paper, including all our favourite toppings. Group by group, we moved to the pizza preparation station where we put on our chef's hats and got to work to make yummy pizzas. Together, we made a giant pizza menu for Miss McCooe to read and choose a pizza from. We finished the day by making book bunting to hang in our classroom and had a surprise visit from Alice who had left Wonderland for the day to read us a story.
