We are celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 3rd March with the theme for our children being, ‘You are a Reader’.
The day will be filled with lots of fun and exciting ways which promote reading for pleasure everyday not just on World Book Day.
As a school community we are encouraging all children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character on World Book Day. We encourage parents not to go to any great expense and a costume may simply include a prop or a copy of their favourite book.
Over the course of next week, we would like all our pupils to take a ‘Shelfie’ and send it to their class teacher via Google Classroom. A ‘Shelfie’ is a selfie which contains your child and their bookshelf or book collection in the image.
Another activity which we are asking our families to participate in is the ‘Family Quiz Sheet’. This is a set of 20 questions based on various books and they can be purchased from class teachers at the cost of £1 from next Monday (money should be sent in with pupils).
