World Around Us Farming Theme
P7 and R7 are looking at Farming in Ireland as part of their World Around Us studies. We were grateful to Mr Litter, who kindly brought over his tractor for us to measure and sketch. Pupils first estimated and then measured the dimensions, before returning to class to use their mathematical skills to choose a suitable scale to draw the tractor.
Those who wanted to brave the rain also climbed in for a photo opportunity!
We will continue to learn about different types of farming and the importance of apples in County Armagh. "Open Farm Weekend" takes place on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June; many local farms will open their doors for free to allow families to see the farm at work. We would encourage our pupils to have a family day out if possible!
