As part of our World Around Us studies, P7 have been learning about The Famine.
During Art, pupils looked at the work of a portrait artist and also the Famine Memorial in Dublin before using pencils, clay and modelling materials to recreate portraits expressing emotions during the Famine. Currently they are building their own Famine Village, with the “Big House”, Cottages, and the Workhouse.
We have also taken part in Shared Education workshops with Edenderry Primary School and will be visiting the Ulster American Folk Park together in April.
