Linked to our topic of The Vikings, the children participated in a fun STEM activity. They had to engineer and design a boat similar to viking longships. They then had to estimate how many cubes their boat would hold. In addition to this, they enjoyed raiding and trading each other, just as the vikings did. They had to be careful not to sink their boats! Was the "treasure" they raided worth sinking their boat? Lots of critical thinking, decision making and investing took place as well as lots of fun and laughter! 😀
