On pirate day in P2 the children got to taste foods that the pirates would have eaten on the ships such as sauerkraut, dry crackers and dried mango . They also got to sample tropical fruits that the pirates would have collected while off the ships. The children enjoyed different art activities such as decorating pirate hats and eye patches. They listened to the story outside called ‘ When I became a pirate.’ The children played many pirate games and sang some pirate songs. They especially enjoyed the treasure hunt following the clues outside to find the hidden party food where ‘X’ marked the spot.
