P7 Shared Education Trip to the Ulster American Folk Park!
Today P7 were given the opportunity to step back in time as we visited the Ulster American Folk Park, along with our friends from Edenderry Primary School.
We were given the opportunity to follow the story of the Mellon family who lived in rural Ulster in the 1800s before young Thomas emigrated to America, to become a successful lawyer, judge and banker.
We really enjoyed exploring the olden day farm, school, shops and streets! We were very lucky to taste fresh scones baked straight from the open fire and also had fun boarding a ship similar to those that many of our ancestors would have boarded before crossing the Atlantic to start a new life.
Although we had great fun and really enjoyed our day - we all agreed that life in 2025 is certainly a lot easier than life in the 1800s.
