P7 visited the Ulster American Folk Park, along with their friends from Edenderry Primary School. We were very lucky with the weather as we explored life and work in rural Ulster and followed the journey of the Mellon family, including 5 year old Thomas, who emigrated to America 🇺🇸 in 1818, making a very successful life as a lawyer, judge and banker.
We really enjoyed the shops and streets, as well as the docks and the ship - with 4 people to a bunk and a bucket for a toilet, the 6 week journey would not have been pleasant!
