P7 pupils enjoyed a practical challenge in WAU, to make their own suspension bridges. We worked in small groups and used simple materials such as straws, string and masking tape. We used the space between tables in our class to make our bridges - we had to rearrange the furniture a little! The string wrapped round the straw added strength to the bridge. We added weight to the cup to test out its strength and the cup was held by a hook made from a paper clip.
