P7 continued their investigation into the events surrounding the Titanic with a study of icebergs.
We used a frozen balloon as a model, noting how only approximately 10% is visible above the water’s surface.
We learned about measuring its volume by displacement and then investigating how water temperatures affect ice and ice melting. 🧊
Everyone had a chance to take readings of the temperature, the volume or the circumference of the ice balloon. Some great discussion was had about the state of matter - water, ice and steam.
