Growing Together - Children’s Mental Health Week
We have been busy!
This week (Children’s Mental Heath Week) we have been thinking about the theme of “Growing Together”.
In P2 we talked about things we couldn’t do as babies that we can do now e.g. walking, feeding, talking...
We shared the story of the Ugly Duckling, to realise that we all grow and change in different ways.
We coloured, cut and made our own emotions fans to show how the Ugly Ducking might have felt at different points in the story.
We have also talked about some goals for when we grow bigger/ grow up - things we would like to learn or to be. We have talked about the people who help us as learners and the mindset we need to have - keep on trying, learning from mistakes, not getting upset when things go wrong. In our play we made ladders to represent the steps we take in our learning.
We are putting this all together in a display which we will share with you soon!!
We also enjoyed dancing to “Reach for the Stars!” 🌟🎤
We hope you enjoy talking with your child about all we have done this week.
Finally, we looked at ways to relax and help ourselves feel happy - drawing, playing, going to the park, exercising, cuddling a pet etc.
We hope you can all have time to relax as families over the midterm break next week. Best wishes!
