P7 learned that pulleys are used to raise the platform in the wonderfully designed “Pont Jacques Chaban-Delmas” - a vertical lift bridge in France.
Pupils worked in pairs to create a simple pulley (learning how to tie knots in the process!) which can raise and lower a load.
Lots of fun was had in the process!
