Climate Change Live Investigation 🕵️♀️ Spring Bulbs Project 🌼 🌸
21st Oct 2024
This year our P7 children along with the Eco - Council will take part in an exciting 'Spring Bulbs for Schools' project which will give our pupils the opportunity to be part of a real science investigation where they will contribute to the final result. This is a live experiment where there are no known outcomes and no "right" answers.
Today we kicked off the project by planting our bulbs. Over the next few weeks and months our young scientists will be asked to record the rainfall and temperature each school day until the end of the project (end of March). The weather results will be recorded and inputted online on the National Museum Wales website. Pupils will watch their daffodils and crocuses grow and record when they flower, and the height of the plants when the flowers open. The aim of this UK wide investigation is to explore the effect of the climate on the growth of the spring bulbs.
Keep checking back in throughout the year to see how we are getting on.
