An Appeal from Mr McComb
Please take care if using the Church car park.
A number of our children are very lucky they are not presently being treated in Craigavon Area Hospital this afternoon. To say they had a near miss in the car park earlier today would be an understatement. I was approached by a very concerned parent who communicated what was described as mayhem in the Church car park this morning.
While the Church car park is not within the remit of the school’s responsibility, the children certainly are. May I appeal to all parents who use the car park, to only park in designated parking spaces and to walk their children (no matter how old) to the concrete bollards adjacent to the footpath that runs along the school avenue please. Dropping children off alongside parked cars will lead to an accident that we all want to avoid.
I understand that everyone is in a rush in the mornings but with a few extra minutes to play with in the morning, we can together ensure the children’s safety.
May I also make a plea to those driving the children to and from school that no-one parks anywhere near the patrol crossing at the top of the school avenue please. Jim, our patrolman, must have clear vision of oncoming traffic from both directions.
Please take care and thank you for your ongoing support. Have a great weekend.
