This week our classroom was transformed into a building site, as the boys and girls put all their learning from our World Around Us topic into practice to construct our final bridges.
We were amazed by the levels of teamwork, creativity and engineering as the children worked collaboratively in small groups to design and build a 1m bridge, displaying elements of bridge features that we had learned about throughout the project. The bridge was also required to be able to hold weights of more than 1kg without collapsing!
Some of these bridges were actually able to carry weights of over 13.5 kg and were still standing.
