Our staff and pupil well-being teams have been busy planning lots of fun activities to make Halloween at St John’s a spooktacular place to be.
🎃 Pumpkin carving / decorating competition
This competition is open to all children in our school who wish to enter. Entry costs £1 and winners from each key stage will be announced on Friday 27th October. Carved/decorated pumpkins should be brought into school between Monday 23rd-Wednesday 25th October with the child’s name and class clearly attached. We can’t wait to see these creations.
🍎 Halloween Bake Off 🍏
Calling all budding bakers! Next week (Monday 16th - Friday 20th October) our newly appointed pupil well-being team will be selling bags of cooking apples for £1 at 2pm and 3pm in the school foyer.
Families are then invited to make and bake together using the apples - creating wonderful apple dishes that would make even Mary Berry’s lips water. Due to serious allergies all products must be EGG free. Egg substitute products are available in supermarkets to use if you wish.
Entries for the bake off MUST BE brought into the school office not classroom areas (to avoid allergy exposure) on Monday 23rd October with the child’s name and class clearly labelled. Our expert team of staff ‘tasters’ will decide upon a winner from each key stage.
🧛♀️ Halloween Parade 🧙♀️
On Friday 27th October, all classes will participate in a Halloween parade - this year, our loved ones are invited to come along to see all the ghouls and boos dressed up in their spooky best.
- Foundation Stage - 9.30am
- Key Stage One - 10.00am
- Key Stage Two - 10.30am
Prizes for best dressed, home made costumes in each key stage.
Our wonderful Cairde St John’s will host a tea/coffee & a biscuit stand for the duration of the Halloween parade for spectators (cost £1.00)
All monies raised during our Halloween Spooktacular week will go directly to classroom resources. We appreciate your support.
